When we first met, I stressed the importance of my home’s historic nature and how I was concerned that my insurance company was not going to fully appreciate the expense it will take to repair my home. It was clear from our conversations, that you and your team appreciated the artistry of my home and the complexity of handling a claim of this nature. Now that my claim has reached its conclusion, I am extremely happy that I retained The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International to handle my loss. Your team helped document the increased cost of plaster, the ornate trims, and the Victorian features that is unique to my house. Additionally, your team documented my personal property with meticulous detail allowing me to recover all of the monies that was due to me under my policy. With retrospect, hiring The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International was an excellent decision. I couldn’t have done it without the support of you, Clay Gibson, and the team at The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International.
Clearly, hiring your firm was the right decision. You and your entire organization are to be commended. Rest assured that any future claims we have will be handled by your firm. Thank you.
In spite of having specialized in real estate and insurance industries as a financial practitioner, having your firm as Loss Settlement adjusters was a practical necessity in this case. I also found that the typical contractor is not knowledgeable in repair of this kind of damage and your firm’s recommendations were invaluable…At the end of the day, your firm’s services cost me nothing, and saved a lot of time during a busy tax season!
Seven alarms and 85 fire fighters later, our entire south building had burned down to the garage level...It was at this time that I learned of a profession that is known as Public Adjusters…We quickly concluded that our expertise was not in maximizing insurance claims…The question was – ‘who should we use?’…One name came up again and again. It was Adjusters International (AI)…Everyone had glowing comments about their experiences with Al and Drew. After getting agreement from our lender, Bank of America, we entered into an agreement to have AI represent us…Complicated insurance claims in excess of $10mm are not pleasurable experiences…Choosing someone who will work hard until the claim is closed is critical. Adjusters International did just that.
Then I spoke to Douglas Lavine of The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International. He seemed knowledgeable and sincere. He took the time to explain exactly what services his company would provide... He provided me with local references and the names of other organizations (including Unions) that he had worked with... The fire took place on December 12. By March 15 we were pleasantly surprised by the settlement The Greenspan Co./Adjusters International had negotiated on our behalf.
With…assistance and advice, this whole exercise progressed in the most efficient manner, and resulted in us obtaining a very satisfactory settlement from our Insurers.
Like most people, we figured okay this is a major setback, but we are insured. We will just file an insurance claim and get back to business as soon as possible. We learned very quickly that getting paid by an insurance company is not that simple. We had no idea it would be so difficult to get the insurance company to pay us a fair price to rebuild our building…The carrier low-balled us at $800,000 for our tremendous damage. You kept firing back at the insurance company…without you we would never have been able to recover almost $2,500,000.00 to rebuild our building.
Through the months that ensued, meeting and working with you and others of your team…we were most thankful for your efforts in interacting with the army of insurance consultants relative to the coinsurance, depreciation, and extra expenses items. Best of all, you were able to negotiate a settlement that was greater than three times the $2.5 million that the insurance underwriter had originally reserved for payment of the claim.
