Hurricane Isaac Nears Landfall

Having formed into a Category 1 hurricane, Isaac is expected to make landfall Tuesday evening just west of the mouth of the Mississippi. At his approach, Hurricane Isaac is expected to pose significant storm surge and flood threat to the northern Gulf Coast. In anticipation of the far reaching effects of the hurricane, Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama have declared local States Of Emergency, and evacuations are ongoing across Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and the Florida Panhandle.
