Adjusters International’s Controller, Maria Suppa was recently named as the 2017 Chair for Mohawk Valley’s March for Babies, also known as the March of Dimes.
The March of Dimes foundation dates back to Franklin Roosevelt, a former president who suffered from polio. He started this wonderful organization to obtain funding for the research and eventual vaccine that ended this epidemic. Once its original purpose was served, the March of Dimes began focusing on preventing birth defects, decreasing infant mortality rates, and in 2003, fighting premature birth.
Maria’s experience with the foundation’s mission comes from her own pregnancy and delivery at just 28 weeks with twins Mary and Anna. Maria is dedicated to giving back to charitable causes that support the research for decreasing premature birth rates. She has been participating in the March for Babies campaign by donating in 2014 and 2015, and then starting a team of her own in 2016 – Team Mary and Anna!
