A team from Adjusters International showed their support for the United Way of the Valley and Greater Utica Area by volunteering at their first Saranac Thursday as beverage pourers.
Each Thursday throughout the summer the Saranac Brewery hosts a community event, Saranac Thursdays from 5:30-9pm. Various bands provide entertainment while local area companies volunteer their time pouring beer for the crowd in attendance.
Members from Adjusters International who participated in this year’s pour were: Greg Raab, Brianna Moyer, Lynn Palmer, Jason Hartley, Elena Avetsiuk, Peter DeCarlo, Nikki Caouette and Rebecca Landcastle.
The United Way is in its 18th year of partnering with the Saranac Brewery for the weekly summertime event. In 2015 more than $37,000 was raised for our local community. The money went towards helping area seniors and children. According to Brenda Episcopo, CEO and Executive Director, the money raised last year was enough to get 300 senior citizens consistent safe rides to their medical appointments and helped more than 900 preschool age children have safe and rich learning environments to go.
Over the 17 years of the existence of the Saranac Thursday program, they have raised nearly $600,000 to benefit the area. Every dollar raised locally, stays right here in the community to improve life situations for area residents. To LIVE UNITED means being part of something greater and making a long-lasting impact in the area.
