From January 15th to the 17th, our management team and several of our public adjusters attended the 2015 National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters (NAPIA) Mid-Year Meeting at the Loews Portofino Bay Hotel at Universal Orlando. Meetings are held twice a year for NAPIA members to receive education/training and updates on new insurance law and industry trends. As the current NAPIA President, Karl Denison of Goodman-Gable-Gould/AI presided over the meeting and offered the meeting's opening remarks. Other AI Officers in attendance were: Greg Raab, Treasurer; and Board Members, Matt Blumkin and Pat Cuccaro.
NAPIA took the opportunity to couple the continuing education offerings of the Association with the newly created 5-hour Law and Ethics course requirement instituted by the State of Florida. The credits obtained from this course are also transferable to many other states, a service that NAPIA provides to their membership. In addition, the Association's board of directors, officers and past Presidents met to discuss the goals and objectives of the organization, current funding, and legislative issues that affect the practice of public adjusting.
Founded in 1951, the National Association of Public Insurance Adjusters promotes the highest standards of professional education, conduct and ethics in the field of public insurance adjusting. NAPIA's members are committed to working in the best interest of their client—the policyholder—and to conducting business with honesty and integrity.
